Getting Started with AV Docket Watch
Welcome to AV Docket Watch — your central hub for tracking autonomous vehicle (AV) policy and docket items across the United States.
What Is AV Docket Watch?
AV Docket Watch aggregates and monitors policy docket items from cities, states, and federal agencies that may impact autonomous vehicle operations. The application automatically:
- Collects docket items from government meeting portals (Legistar, BoardDocs, Granicus, etc.)
- Scores each item for AV relevance and approval likelihood
- Highlights high-priority items that need immediate attention
- Generates weekly digests summarizing key developments
Quick Tour
The Feed (Home Page)
The main feed at / displays all docket items sorted by relevance. Each card shows:
- Title — The agenda item or docket title
- Jurisdiction — Which city/state/agency the item is from
- Meeting Date — When the item was or will be discussed
- Scores — AV relevance, approval likelihood, and overall score
- Classification — Category tags like "Regulation", "Permit", etc.
Filtering & Search
Use the filter panel on the left to narrow results:
- Search — Free-text search across titles and content
- High Priority — Show only items with high AV + approval scores
- States — Filter by U.S. state
- Jurisdictions — Filter by specific city or agency
- Score sliders — Set minimum thresholds for AV, approval, or overall scores
- Date range — Filter by meeting date
Item Details
Click any card to view the full item details at /items/[id], including:
- Full text content and summary
- Extracted keywords
- Source links to the original document
- Related meeting information
Weekly Digests
Visit /digests to browse archived weekly digests. Each digest summarizes:
- Decisions and actions needed this week
- Upcoming deadlines
- Top dockets by business impact
- Customer and pipeline implications
Admin Dashboard
The admin area at /admin (if you have access) provides:
- System metrics and source health
- Ingestion run history
- Source registry management
Scoring Explained
Each docket item receives two confidence scores:
| Score | Description |
|---|---|
| AV Relevance | How likely the item relates to autonomous vehicles (0–100%) |
| Approval Likelihood | How likely the item will be approved/adopted (0–100%) |
The Overall Score combines both: 60% × AV + 40% × Approval
High Priority items are those with AV ≥ 75% AND Approval ≥ 60%.
