Exporting Data
AV Docket Watch allows you to export filtered docket items to CSV format for use in spreadsheets, reports, or other tools.
How to Export
- Apply your filters — Use the filter panel to select the items you want to export
- Click the Export button — Located above the results grid, next to the sort options
- Download the file — Your browser will download a CSV file
What's Included
The CSV export includes all items matching your current filters with these columns:

Export Limits
- Exports include all items matching your filters (not just the current page)
- Very large exports may take a few moments to generate
- There is no hard limit, but extremely broad filters may produce large files
Use Cases
Reporting
Export high-priority items weekly for executive reports:
- Enable "High Priority" filter
- Set date range to the past week
- Export to CSV
- Import into your reporting tool
Analysis
Export items from specific jurisdictions for detailed analysis:
- Select target states (e.g., CA, TX)
- Optionally filter by specific jurisdictions
- Export to CSV
- Analyze in Excel, Google Sheets, or a BI tool
Tracking
Create a log of all items you've reviewed:
- Apply filters for items you want to track
- Export periodically
- Compare exports to identify new items
Tips
- Filter before exporting — Narrowing your filters produces smaller, more focused exports
- Use date ranges — Export items from specific time periods for periodic reporting
- Check the count — The item count displayed helps estimate export size
Troubleshooting
Export button not working
- Ensure JavaScript is enabled in your browser
- Check if any browser extensions are blocking downloads
- Try refreshing the page
File won't open in Excel
- The file is UTF-8 encoded; use "Import" rather than "Open" in older Excel versions
- In Google Sheets, use File → Import → Upload
